As Minister of Canadian Heritage, I’m delighted to wish you a wonderful 38th edition of the Festival international Nuits d’Afrique, an edgy and diverse summer festival packed with artistic and cultural events!

From July 9 to 21, this gathering will offer everyone a true adventure, with artists hailing from nearly 30 countries. It’s an ideal opportunity to make extraordinary discoveries and share unique moments with Canadians from all origins.

As a government, we know that supporting festivals, like Nuits d’Afrique, allows communities to come together through art, in all its forms, which is an essential to our well-being.

I would like to thank Productions Nuits d’Afrique, the artists and the many volunteers who make this festival such a success. Without you, none of this would be possible.

For the 38th year, the Festival international Nuits d’Afrique transports us to the heart of the fascinating cultural traditions of the African continent, the West Indies and Latin America. This festive gathering, one of the highlights of the Montréal summer, once again gets us moving to the rhythm of world music.

We are privileged to be able to enjoy this great musical celebration here in our metropolis, which continues to play a leading role in artistic creativity.

I therefore extend an invitation to the entire population to join in the festivities and enjoy the must-see concerts, the many events and the workshops available.

Thank you to the entire organizing team for showcasing the artistic creativity of talents from here and abroad, and for offering Montrealers the opportunity to make unique cultural discoveries.

Montréal vibre à la culture africaine

Le Festival international Nuits d’Afrique se démarque dans notre agenda culturel, car ce rendez-vous estival nous permet de prendre conscience de l’importante contribution africaine et de l’espace créole à la vitalité culturelle de Montréal. Le Festival, en plus d’attirer les foules du Québec, constitue un événement touristique exceptionnel.

C’est avec une grande joie que nous saluons le soutien de nos ministères respectifs à cette édition 2024 qui nous promet un panorama artistique tout en créativité et en sensibilité. Nous sommes fiers que le gouvernement du Québec soit demeuré, au fil des années, un fidèle partenaire de Nuits d’Afrique, ce qui traduit un parti pris résolu en faveur du dialogue des cultures et de l’élargissement des horizons culturels du Québec.
