KIZABA • Single Naturelle (feat Vox Sambou)
Disques Nuits d'Afrique / Believe
After the summer jam Soso, Canada’s Congolese Afrohouse ambassador Kizaba is back with a second single leading up to the group’s upcoming album Congolese Musique. On ”Naturelle,” an Afro-pop ode to natural beauty, Kizaba and Vox Sambou offer an Afro-Pop ode to natural beauty, African femininity, and simplicity.
On Naturelle, featuring his friend Vox Sambou, the artists talk about African beauty in its natural state, while raising awareness about the use of whitening products, excessive make-up and, more generally, about rejecting the impossible beauty standards imposed by western culture on African women.
The music video, shot in the countryside Quebec, presents a backdrop of raw landscapes and natural beauty, in stark contrast with the artists performing in an old school diving suit. The song and video reflect the values of Kizaba, with simple, meaningful themes and punchy and memorable instrumentation.
This ode to the beautiful, the simple, and the natural was composed in Montreal and recorded in Kinshasa.
