Djely Tapa - Dankoroba (Album)

Dankoroba, Djely Tapa’s new album, was recorded between Bamako and Montreal, as well as in Abidjan and Paris. Djely Tapa’s desire to reach a new level of depth has resulted in an album that is both timeless and groundbreaking. Visionary. With this new work, she brings Canadian and Malian music to the forefront of the international scene.

Rooted in many dimensions, rich in a wide range of emotions, Dankoroba is inspired by the thousand-year-old music and blues of Mali, electronic sounds and futuristic landscapes. The album features guest stars such as Vieux Farka Touré.

To create the 12 tracks on Dankoroba, her second career album, the singer-songwriter and two-time JUNO Award winner immersed herself in the musical traditions of her native Mali. She then produced the album in Montreal with award-winning producer Jean Massicotte (Arthur H, Patrick Watson, Lhasa de Sela, etc.).
