TAKANA ZION

TAKANA ZION

“A clever mix of Afro, R&B and dancehall, tinged with blues and sometimes even a bit of salsa and flamenco. All for the benefit of Africa and Guinea, and imbued with a spiritual message of peace and unity” (Reggae.fr, 2023). Takana Zion has been a well-known figure on the international reggae circuit for over fifteen years. This singjay enthusiast, whose powerful voice is as comfortable in French as in English, Susu, Fula, Malinké, has collaborated with the likes of  Capleton, Manjul, Sizzla and Tiken Jah Fakoly. Before dedicating himself to reggae roots, he was big into rap and dancehall, and now, this winner of a Victoire du Reggae is reinventing himself with his project Banjo Kafaan (2023), a tribute to his ancestors.
