SOFAZ

SOFAZ

“The Sofaz band is composed of musicians from different countries, Burkina Faso, France, Morocco and Reunion Island. The full richness of their cultures meld into a single mould, creating a niche through dynamic artistic sharing” (France Inter). In a spirit of unity, with a crazy energy, kayamb cavorts with electric guitar, djembe flirts with guembri, and synthesizers and other machines join in the fun—Sofaz has arrived! With their electronic tonic of Mayola combined with Gnawa grooves and West-African rhythms, they conjure up a generous trance infused with Creole poetry. Their second album, Mèt Ansamb, was released in 2023.
