Friendly and always smiling, the Brazilian veteran in Montreal, Paulo Ramos, draws inspiration from the city, which he compares to his native São Paulo. Coming from an artistic family, he was immersed in music from a young age. After forming the Paulo Ramos Group, he achieved great success in Canada and internationally with albums like Zig-zag (1988) and Futuro (1991). The trio shone at the Montreal International Jazz Festival and released a new album, Africa do Brasil. Still active, Paulo Ramos continues to produce albums, including Lua Vermelha (2022), and his complete discography was re-released digitally in 2023.
