SUBA TRIO – featuring Gustavo Ovalles

Following last year’s memorable success and enthusiastic reception from the Montreal audience, Les Productions Nuits d’Afrique is thrilled to welcome back Omar Sosa, the virtuoso Cuban pianist and seven-time GRAMMY nominee, and Seckou Keita, the master of the kora and Senegalese singer based in the UK, who will perform as SUBA Trio, with Venezuelan percussionist Gustavo Ovalles, for a unique evening on January 23, 2025, at the National.

Upon its release in 2021, SUBA Trio was named one of the best albums of the year by NPR, ranked first on the Transglobal World Music Chart, and received a four-star review in Downbeat magazine, among other accolades.
