Welcome to the 17th edition of Syli d’Or de la musique du monde!

From February 13 to April 25, 2024, every Tuesday and Wednesday at 8:30pm at the Club Balattou, you can participate to the selection of the 9 bands ‘’Coup de coeur’’ who will be send in semi-finales !

▷ Noushka | Hip-hop, R&B, Electro Pop (Haiti)

Noushka (Cluny Michel) is an author, composer, interpreter, and dancer originally from Ottawa and with roots in Lac St-Jean and Haiti. Her stage name is a nickname given to her by her father during her childhood. Her debut album, “Futur Daltonien,” distributed by The Orchard and The Crown record label, is now available on all digital platforms since February 11, 2022. This project is inspired by Afro-Canadian history. Noushka started the year strong with her single “1804,” paying homage to her Haitian community.

▷ Athenea y su candela | Latin Pop, Cumbia, Bolero (Cuba)

Melanie Monette Fowler Flores, known professionally as ATHENEA, is a singer, songwriter, producer, dancer, choreographer, actress, model, activist, and fashion designer, born in Havana, Cuba. Her first public presentation was at the age of 5 at the Casa de Cultura in her native municipality. At just 9 years old, she had the opportunity to share the stage with Cuban music personalities such as Rosita Fornés, Luis Carbonell, Buena Fe, among others. Already established in Montreal, together with Ricardo Soriano she founded the group Q’bolà, now Q’bolà Orchester, in 2018. ATHENEA is preparing the release of new songs as a soloist and composer, giving her the opportunity to show a different facet as an artist and the ability to experiment more with her music.

Be part of the adventure: attend as many concerts as you want for free and rate your favourite artists each night. You will be invited to fill out an evaluation form, it is important to EVALUATE THE TWO PERFORMANCES of the evening and attend the three performances.
