MATEO

MATEO

“Révélation Radio-Canada in the World Music category for 2020-2021, Mateo simultaneously expresses both a world rock culture and an inspired blend of Afro-Latin music, whether Colombian, Cuban, Puerto Rican or Nuyorican” (PanM360, 2020). Mateo’s first concert was when he went to see Slash in Bogotá! You get the idea! Mateo stirs up his Latin American roots with his electric guitar. His music, with its high-reaching vocals and inspired riffs, expresses the many facets of his personality. Incorporating rock, cumbia, salsa, rumba, reggae, dancehall, reggaeton, son montuno, Guaguancó, bolero, Afrobeat, pop, lo-fi, jazz…  it’s breath of freedom like no other. His two-volume debut album, Vengo de Frente Vol. I & II, is authentic, bold and accessible.
