Mamadou Koïta is a great singer, author and composer.

Born in Africa in Burkina Faso, he is a Griot virtuoso of the Balafon, a cheerful percussionist, a wild djembe player, an amazing Tama player, Barra, N’Goni, and much more…

He was born in the musical universe of the Bwaba ethnic group. From an early age, he learned to play the balafon with his father, who was himself a balafon maker and great player.

Today, he knew how to adapt his art and evolve according to his desires to make us vibrate with the Afro-Fusion style. Wiggle guaranteed!

Since he can play, Mamadou has participated in thousands of shows, festivals and scenes around the world and in all different contexts to make us dance! Including many times right here in Quebec!

Tonight, he,wants to bring another color to his work (Afro-Fusion) by presenting a Mandinka Afro-Jazz Trio

for you! He is currently on a “preview” tour for his new album which will be released this fall2023. This Afro Jazz trio will be under the direction of Mamadou, with these two companions Salif Sanou (known as: Lasso) on percussion and Mr. Ira Coleman, a renowned Franco-American jazz musician on double bass. An exceptIonal evening awaits you, all hushed and atmospheric!
