Speaking of his busking, Kenzow once told the Montreal Gazette, “I think people like it because it’s new, you know? Because it’s something they don’t hear anytime (…) they want something fresh, that’s what I’m bringing to the street,” as he explained the difference of West African guitar style. With disarming authenticity, the young singer-songwriter and self-taught musician, and son of the celebrated late filmmaker IdrissaOuedraogo, is always ready to tackle any new musical experience. Winner of the 2019 Bronze Syli de bronze de la musique du monde award, Kenzow plays a moving, reggae-inspired African pop with an urban feel.
