Welcome to the 16th edition of Syli d’Or de la musique du monde!

From February 14 to April 12, 2023, every Tuesday and Wednesday at 8:30pm at the Club Balattou, you can participate to the selection of the 9 bands ‘’Coup de coeur’’ who will be send in semi-finales !

▷ ISSEK | Country-rock kabyle (Algeria)

His real name is Aidoune Smail, Issek is a young Kabyle artist from Bejaia in Algeria. 

In 2011, he leaves to live in Asia and begins to sing in the streets of Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and India. Seven years later, he moved to Quebec and performed on several occasions following invitations from the association Talsa Aokas Humanity. 

Issek brings a personal and innovative touch to the Kabyle song by adding his influences of country and rock, musical universes that they particularly like.

▷ ABONDANCE | Caribbean-electro (Guadeloupe, Martinique)

Abondance is an electro-Caribbean project that aims to be unifying, multicultural and accessible to all. The artistic concept mixes the sounds of the “islands” with the sounds of the “city” by including sounds from the West Indies in electro music, and conversely, by adding West Indian rhythms and colors to electronic music. 

This musical project tells the story of anyone who has left their rural home to settle in a new urban environment until they reach affluence. 

“Our influences are multiple but we can retain Patrick Saint Eloi, Eugene Mona, Kaytranada, Lane8, Darius and Disclosure.”

The style oscillates between traditional Caribbean music like Zouk, Gwo Ka, Carnival and mixes with House, Pop, Dance/Electronic and even funk.

Doors open at 8:00pm! Free entrance. Attend three concerts and become a jury for the artists of tomorrow!

Be part of the adventure: attend as many concerts as you want for free and rate your favourite artists each night. You will be invited to fill out an evaluation form, it is important to EVALUATE THE TWO PERFORMANCES of the evening and attend the three performances.
