Irem Bekter is a multidisciplinary artist born in Istanbul.

Trained in dance, theater, music and singing in England, she lived in Argentina for over fifteen years, pursuing a career in theater, television, film and music.

Since moving to Montreal in 2007, she has performed with the Irem Bekter Quintet on a number of stages, including the Montreal Jazz Festival, and recorded her first album, Primero.

For the past five years, she has been immersing herself in the Quebec repertoire, surrounding herself with local songwriters and exploring her talents as a lyricist and composer, resulting in the album Je suis ici (2020).

Having performed the repertoire of her four countries across Quebec, Irem is now showcasing her personal identity as a songwriter, fusing the cultural characteristics of these four countries into a musical whole.

Irem Bekter will be breaking tunes from his new repertoire. 

This is Irem Bekter’s return to the Quebec stage after several months’ absence. She will be exclusively presenting a few tracks from her new repertoire, due for release later in 2024, in intimate venues on the Montreal music scene.
