GUYNARD AND NEW FORMULE

Both a style of music and dance, Congolese rumba has greatly impacted music across the African continent and has led to the creation of soukous and ndombolo. UNESCO was right to inscribe this exhilarating rumba, synonymous with independence, on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2021. Like the world-renowned Congolese rumba star, Tabu Ley Rocheleau, or the legendary Zaiko Langa Langa, Guyard & New Formule, led by singer-songwriter and choreographer Guynard Mungu, AKA Inspecto, creates an exuberant, joyous ambiance, showcasing the flourishing musical trends of both Congolese countries.
