Aboudramane Konaté began playing as a child during traditional ceremonies in Côte d’Ivoire. In 1991, he joined the Dentè company as a soloist. From 1995 to 1998, he collaborates with the Djolem company directed by Salif Coulibaly.

In 1998, Georges Momboye selected him as the first soloist of his company Ivoire Danse with which he collaborated for two years. In 2000, he left for his native country, Burkina Faso, where he joined the Bonogo company directed by Blandine Yameogo, still as first soloist. In Ouagadougou, he multiplies his knowledge by making artistic experiences with Adama Dramè, a percussionist known all over the world, and Seydou Boro, a contemporary afro choreographer, known for his great artistic creativity.

Then, he was called to Bamako, Mali, to accompany Ami Sacko and Bassekou Kouyatè with whom he recorded an album and toured Africa. From 2001 to 2005, with the troupe Foteban directed by Amadou Kiènou, he performed in Germany, France, Switzerland and Italy. He participated in the recording of the album Tabali in 2005.

In Italy since 2007, he collaborates with the association Siraba Italia and with the dancer Mamadou Djan Camara. Since 2008, Dramane Konaté gives a weekly course of African percussion in Piacenza. In addition, from 2010 to 2022, he taught percussion in many other cities in Italy, such as Fano, Fiorenzuola D’Arda, Oleggio, Savona, Rimini, Pesaro, Riccione, Calcinelli, Montefabbri and Turin.

Beyond Italy, Dramane Konatè has performed in various states, such as Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Mali, Guinea-Conakry and France. Thanks to all these experiences and a tireless passion, he has developed a personal and recognizable style, extremely powerful and precise, as well as a careful, patient and passionate pedagogy. Dramane Konaté is available to transmit his great knowledge of the West African percussion tradition through concerts, percussion evenings, courses or intensive workshops, alone or with his group of percussionists.
