DIOGO RAMOS

Recipient of numerous grants and awards, Diogo Ramos, who has also worked with the renowned Chico César, is a musician of many talents and endlessly curious about rhythms in all their forms. Strongly influenced by Tropicália or Tropicalismo, a Brazilian movement that celebrates the universality of art, including music, this singer-songwriter-composer-producer-guitar virtuoso is clearly a brilliant musician. He is as adept at adapting Gilles Vigneault’s songs to the Bossa Nova style as he is at creating a vibrant fusion of electronic and hip-hop music with samba funk. His latest album, Cabaça, released in 2023, follows this same trend; “The album is full of dazzling horns, warm backing vocals, ‘groovy’ bass tones. It’s packed with wonderful collaborations” (Radio-Canada, 2023).
