Discover for this third evening of semi-final :

▷ BOUBÉ | Desert blues(Niger)

Born in Niger, Boubé grew up in the village of Iferouane, located on the edge of the Ténéré Desert, which hosts the largest festival of Tuareg music. Boubé skillfully plays the guitar and drums. He is a singer-songwriter, and his first album recorded in Niger is titled “Issaktan.” His music speaks of peace, friendship, and always inspires a sense of travel. His melodies can be meditative at times, and at other times, they lean towards blues/rock. Some even nickname him the Jimmy Hendrix of the Sahara. It’s up to you to discover the musical universe of Boubé.

▷ NUMIDZ | Fusion Rock Chaâbi (Algeria)

NUMIDZ, formerly FreeHead in Algeria, is renewing its musical journey after a three-year break due to the immigration of its members to Canada. Fusing rock, metal, jazz and Berber music, the band creates a unique style that represents a bridge between Algeria and the world. Driven by a passion for sharing their music, NUMIDZ aim to captivate with catchy melodies and hard-hitting riffs. Under their new name, they embrace their Berber heritage while looking to the future, ready to connect with audiences in Canada and beyond. The challenge of starting from scratch is met with determination and creativity.

▷ LES TOCHESS | Cumbia (Colombia, Mexico, Cuba)

Less Toches is the musical collision of five explosive characters, an unexpected and refreshing big bang of cumbia on the island of Montreal. The eternal magic of the peasant troubadours of the South acquires here a poetic, passionate and amusing air: Less Toches takes its name from a Latin American bird, and a Colombian expression meaning “clumsy”. Humor and trance translate into a fresh and deep interpretation of the peasant and riverside spirit of cumbia and accordion music. Humor and trance translate into a fresh and deep interpretation of the peasant and riverside spirit of Colombian cumbia and accordion music.Their Colombian, Mexican, Cuban and Argentinian origins combine to revive the rhythms that marked their childhood through the folk tradition: Continental cumbia from Montreal!
