CHRISTIAN OBAM

PRESTIGE presented by Radio VM

Christian Obam’s guitar playing—the bassline at times raw, other times sophisticated—easily transports the audience between Cameroon and Senegal. His music encapsulates Africa, reminds us of the true origins of the blues and jazz as it oscillates between sweet repose and exhilarating elation. Like Richard Bona, whom the artist describes as “The One and Only,” and the equally legendary Habib Faye, whom he succeeded in Youssou N’Dour’s group Super Étoile de Dakar, Obam transcends his musical heritage.
