CHIPO NYAMBIYA

The mbira thumb piano, which has been played for thousands of years and is now inscribed on UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, creates a sound like no other, both moving and uplifting. And, like Stella Chiweshe, Chipo Nyambiya is one of the few women who play this magical instrument. Confident, positive, a real go-getter, Nyambiya is one of those singers whose soaring vocals breathe authenticity.
