From February 14 to April 12, 2023, every Tuesday and Wednesday at 8:30pm at the Club Balattou, you can participate to the selection of the 9 bands ‘’Coup de coeur’’ who will be send in semi-finales !

▷ CHIÍTO | Flamenco (Spain, Salvador, Cuba)

Chiíto is a current flamenco-fusion musical project where Rocío Vadillo’s vocals, Hanser Santos’ traditional Latin-flavored percussion rhythms, Jheinsen Montalvo’s jazz-influenced guitar and the versatility of Quebec guitarist and saxophonist Mathieu Langlois meet.

Originally from Andalusia and at the base of the project, Rocío Vadillo began a new musical adventure in 2018 in Montreal where she was able to participate in various creations such as the video for the song “Par amour” by Lara Fabian.

▷ ONENESSA | RnB, Afropop (Algeria)

OneNessa, whose real name is Ikram Ouanassa, was born in Batna, Algeria. From an early age, she was introduced to hip-hop culture, influenced by her older brothers who introduced her to French rap legends like IAM and the Fonky Family. Later, she was seduced by the poetry and ferocity of Lauryn Hill and the sensitivity and sex appeal of Aaliyah, among others, whom she counts among her multiple inspirations. 

In 2000, she moved with her family to Montreal and five years later, she presented her first experimental project, The Archer, recorded with Sonny Black. She has collaborated with several artists, including the collective #RAPELLES, bringing together various female rappers from the local scene, who performed at the First ADISQ Gala in 2021. 

She released her first album “Équinoxes” in 2022 and her track “Again” feat. Barnev has over 130,000 views on Youtube.

Be part of the adventure: attend as many concerts as you want for free and rate your favourite artists each night. You will be invited to fill out an evaluation form, it is important to EVALUATE THE TWO PERFORMANCES of the evening and attend the three performances.
