BOULILA

Boulila, a unique fusion of African Gnawa tradition with jazz, blues, funk, afrobeat, began in 2016 under the direction of Yassine Boudouch. After starting out in a traditional vein in Montreal, the group transitioned to a fusion formation in 2019, collaborating with artists such as WuSen Fam, Marocouleurs, and Kais. The breakthrough came with the first prize at the Syli D’Or springboard, attracting media attention including “Le Devoir”. Invited to prestigious festivals in 2021, Boulila made its mark on both the Quebec and international music scene. The group plans to release a promising EP, confirming its growing influence and commitment to both the global and Quebec music scenes.
