Betania López is a Chilean singer-songwriter, with Latin rhythms mixed with Jamaican and carnival sounds, with everyday lyrics that depict today’s Chile from a female perspective, in a true party that won’t leave anyone without dancing.

In her early days, she took part in rock schools, winning one of the top spots in the 2011 generation, and in early 2012, her music made its debut outside Chile, specifically in Catalonia, Spain. In early 2012, her music made its debut outside Chile, more precisely in Catalonia, Spain. A year later, she was a finalist in the Pablo de Rokha rock and music competition. 

Her first album, consisting of 9 songs, was released under the title “La última carta” in 2014, both in Chile and in Mexico and Spain, a year in which she also completed her first promotional tour in Mexico. 

Subsequently, she released her second studio album called “Amor Perverso y Dub”, an experimental album with elétronic dyes, from which the first single “No es tu Rocksteady” worked with musician and producer Cristóbal “Pera” Prezz (Apokalipo, De Kiruza and Ana Tijoux), was released on all platforms at the end of 2018, spinning the single by all regional radios, some capitals and closing the year in a second tour in Mexico.

During 2019, Betania released several singles and collaborations, received the Fondo para el Fomento de la Música Nacional, Línea de apoyo a la Internacionalización de la Música Chilena, open window, which enabled them to reach the Mexican media and public for the third time. Betania are currently promoting their recently released singles, “Santa Capucha”, inspired by the role of women in this new social construct, and “Censura”, which is a call for caution against the abuse of power, the power of truth as a transformative light that is reborn and can be seen in the hearts of this society.
