BANTÜ SALSA

BANTÜ SALSA

Bantü Salsa, recently returned from their international tour, “is a group that celebrates people, with a focus on the importance of moving forward together, despite differences” (RCI, 2019). The diverse backgrounds of the band’s members reflect Montreal’s cosmopolitan image. Lively Bantu and salsa rhythms, the common thread that runs through their music, reveals a shared history of centuries-old African and Latin American traditions. As if to remind us of that history linking the two continents, the lyrical kora, commanding percussions, delicately orchestrated brass and spirited keyboard combine energetically and harmoniously with Just Wôan’s broad vocal range, to create a very groovy African salsa!
