BABA MD

BABA MD is a Malian multi-instrumentalist who grew up surrounded by the music of his origins. His rich heritage of griot parents nourished him with the music and rhythms of the Mandé Empire from an early age. The artist creates his own instruments, including his 15-stringed instrument, somewhere between the kora and the kamalengoni, which he calls “bahouinou” (the strings of a man), whose sounds transport us to the heart of West Africa, unveiling a Mandingo blues style with jazz, funk and reggae accents.

Winner of numerous awards, BABA MD presents BLUES MANDINGUE, an exclusive concert born of a musical laboratory exploring the fusion between traditional Malian music and today’s modern influences.
