BABA MD

BABA MD is a multi-instrumentalist from Mali who grew up surrounded by music of his origins. His rich heritage of griot parents has nurtured him in the music and rhythms of the Mandé Empire from an early age. The artist creates his own instruments, including his 15-string instrument, somewhere between the kora and the the kora and the kamenlengoni, which he calls “bahouinou” (the strings of a man). transport us to the heart of West Africa, revealing a Mandingo blues style with jazz, funk and reggae accents.
