The sextet’s genre-busting music is irresistible and remarkably accessible for anyone wanting to live it up. While the oboe and the violin answer cheekily to the guitar, bass, drums and keyboard, the energetic percussion instruments assert their authority, steering the group onto side roads featuring an array of world rhythms, Berber and Andalusian, of course, but also Gypsy, Latin and Antillean vibes, always sung Arabic with a bold rock attitude. Released in 2022, the band’s third album, which is simply called “III,” has already earned a Félix and been nominated for a Juno.
