Just last winter, this maestro with smouldering eyes took to the stage at the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal for the Cuban musical revue, “Havana Nights.” Salsa, timba and pilón: the pianist, composer, singer-songwriter, graduate of the prestigious Instituto Superior de Arte de La Habana, who has collaborated with the likes of Florence K and Boogát since his arrival in Québec, delivers an exquisite soundscape of Latin rhythms as he covers all-time favourites such as “Guantanamera” and “Chan Chan” alongside hits by pop artists Marc Anthony and Enrique Iglesias, while also showcasing the Yoruba’s Afro-Cuban heritage, not to mention his own compositions.
