After his travel diaries that took him from Montreal to Soweto via Marrakech, Gotta logo is back on the road of exploration with a new project, African Guitar Spirit.

Gotta Lago hails from the Ivory Coast. In 1998, he put down roots in Quebec.

These 18 years in Montreal have enabled the artist to diversify his artistic offering. While he grew up in a traditional musical universe in Africa, in Canada he explores other avenues.

In addition to vocal jazz and classical singing, which he studied at the Université de Montréal, he joined a French-language reggae group as pianist; he also worked with Canadian painters, hosted storytelling evenings, was part of a theatre company and, because he is a jack-of-all-trades, worked as a choreographer on contemporary dance shows.

In 2004, he and four musicians founded the Gotta Lago Project, a fusion of traditional African music, blues and world music.

In 2014, he released his first album, Carnets de route.

In 2015, he received the Cultural Diversity Award for African Guitar Spirit, a musical research project that has now been translated into a series of shows.
