BIOGRAPHIE

Just imagine a party bursting with life and laughter, and you’ll instantly experience that “Lively up” sensation! Highly popular across Canada, and reputed in Montreal as being the “most fun” reggae band, Reggae Uprising Band appeals to Rastafari enthusiasts as much as any music fan just wanting to have a great time… impossible to resist the invitation to a joyful celebration of life from this band composed of Andrea, Noel and Chantal on vocals, Rohan on keyboard, Byron on drums, Jérémy on guitar and Patrick on bass!

True to the memory of greats like Peter Tosh and Lee Scratch Perry, the band’s members take on the Kingston musical repertoire in their own way. They radiate an 80s energy that celebrates the sun and chases the clouds away. Their talent has paved the way to international reggae stars including Luciano and Marcia Griffiths among a host of others. Without a doubt, Bob Marley would have welcomed these masters of reggae with open arms.

Endlessly inspired, Reggae Uprising Band revisits the rich history of “Black music”: jazz, soul, R&B, world… without leaving out rock and folk. Why draw an arbitrary line between genres? What the band wants more than anything is to immerse you in a music that will help you rise above it all … Are you ready to be uplifted?
