Electro-samba-funk wizard, the spark that ignites nights that seem to never end, this singer-songwriter has been part of Montreal’s music scene since 2010 but he was born in Brazil like fellow musicians, Paulo Ramos, Rommel Ribeiro and Bïa, with whom he sang “Liberté je t’aime” during the pandemic. As the brilliant music producer behind multiple albums out of São Paulo, he proudly embraces his heritage while reinventing the musical landscape with an eye to the future. Yet the enduring traces of such singers as Gilberto Gil are never far behind. His 2018 album, Samba sans frontières, only strengthens the musician’s popularity—his is a Brazilian love story with a tip of the hat to Quebec legend, Gilles Vigneault.

His song “Nina,” released in early 2023, reveals a “Despacito” kind of sensuality, with all the glamour and sensuality you could wish for, not to mention that spiciness that Ramos fans and enthusiasts of Montreal’s Brazilian music scene adore. The song features on his album, Cabaça, an ultra-energetic mix that will get you shimming your feet over the sand or your sneakers on the pavement. With sensational urban musicians, Boogát and rapper Imposs always close at hand, Ramos demonstrates amazing stylistic agility, in French and Portuguese.
