Declared the 2022-2023 Révélation Radio-Canada, Noé Lira, who is of mixed Mexican-Quebec heritage, is one of those lucky stars who only lives for art, whether it is singing, dancing, acting or writing, or through her activism. As an accordionist, she uses her wind instrument to express her disdain for violence against women and the social stagnation of a world stuck in neutral. From her Mexican heritage, the artist draws from a folklore that includes daily rituals with transformative powers. In the smallest of gestures or refrains, she strives to promote dialogue and freedom for all.
Her first album, Latiendo la tierra, made entirely by women from start to finish, reveals her creativity and has received wide acclaim in the music world. She has earned recognition from Quebec’s ADISQ and the Gala Alternatif de la Musique Indépendante du Québec (GAMIQ) as well as Latin Awards Canada. Her music videos reflect genuine plenitude, a zenitude rooted in nature, bathed in the soft moonlight. Places of rebirth dressed in red, even under the “Blanca Nieve.” This spiritual daughter of Lhasa de Sela is not to be missed.
