Samba, cumbia, salsa, merengue, Afro-Peruvian music – many of Latin America’s beats have their sources in Africa, from where they arrived with the slaves who accompanied the Spanish colonizers starting in the 16th century. At the crossroads, in dance and music, Ramón Céspedes and his guests celebrate these colourful folk traditions, filled with jubilation, hope and pride.

Ramon Cespedes, born in Quebec to an Afro-Peruvian family, chose song.
