The Cuban Martinez Show - Syli d'Or
Under the impetus of Yordan Martínez, a versatile composer, trombonist and arranger, the Cuban Martinez Show delivers an exuberant style of music, a blend of jazz, funk, Latin jazz and Cuban beats. Midway between an American big band and a Cuban sextet, the Cuban Martinez Show is a unique sense of improvisation, an invitation to dance!
Saravá - Syli d'Argent
Their influences include Buena Vista Social Club (Cuba), Oscar D'León (Venezuela) and Baden Powell (Brazil). You can see that this young Montreal group, consisting of accomplished musicians, performs Latin music. But not just any Latin music! Brass, percussions, strings. Between salsa, rumba and chorinho, this is an authentic sound that Sarava cultivates with great care.

The music of Élété Rimtobaye reflects this image, rich in varied influences and open to the world. Inspired by Lokua Kanza, Richard Bona and his H'sao compatriots, Élété uses his raspy voice, guitar and percussions to forge a sound that is very much his own.
This is being recorded for broadcast bu CBC radio 2.
