Biography :

Formed in summer 2004, the group Rootsteppers took time before finding a permanent name. Indeed, the drummer Richard Marescot, bassist Simon Bélanger and singer/guitarist Jeremie Coulombe, compose pieces for several years.  Over time, the group has had several musicians and collaborators to eventually consolidated with the arrival of Hans Stutz (vocals, guitar), Nicolas Proulx (keyboards) and Momo, a percussionist from Senegal. Expressing themselves in French, English and Spanish, the songs are meant for Rootsteppers to be as close as possible to the warm and festive flavors of Jamaican roots with a touch of Quebec. They draw their inspiration from the repertoire of roots reggae greatest like Bob Marley, Burning Spear or Israel Vibration. Rootsteppers' music is register in the great tradition of reggae by spreading the values of the genre: Love, peace and unity.
