Biography :

Azzedine Maghrabi was born in Algiers, a true musical crossroads of Eastern and Western influences. At the age of 18 years, Azzedine made his first artistic steps by "scraping" the strings of a guitar. His musical curiosity broth him to other instruments like the accordion and the banjo, but his encounter with the oud is crucial. He developed a passion for this very symbolic instrument and develops a new forms of musical expression. Azzedine Maghrabi is a prolific artist who has over twelve albums to his active. He is inspired by the classical Arab music of the Maghreb, Egypt, and Turkey. He has represented Algeria in several major cultural events including: l’Année de l’Algérie en France, Le Festival Panafricain et Alger Capitale Culturelle du Monde Arabe. For a year now, Azzedine is enhancing the cultural space of Montreal and has become a worthy ambassador of the Maghreb community.
